Dinner is Served

There’s something so fresh and elegant about white dishes. Extremely versatile, white dishes not only compliment most home décor, they also make your food look amazing!

There’s a reason most restaurants use white dishes. White makes any color paired with it POP! Doesn’t the gorgeous Shiraleah Pineapple serving bowl from our May/June box make my fresh Zucchini Salad (recipe below) look vibrant and delicious?

A great way to accent your white dinnerware is with glass . Add depth to your table-settings by stacking clear, glass salad plates on top of white dinner plates (tip - keep your salad cool by chilling the plates prior to serving). These beautiful glass plates were featured in our November box!

I love to mix and match white dishes. Plain, embossed, round, or square, any size or shape will work if you keep the color consistent. Display your dishes by stacking different styles side-by-side in sets of 2-4. Keep it simple to avoid looking over-crowded.

Zucchini Corn Salad

  • 2 small green zucchini

  • 2 small yellow squash

  • 2 ears of corn, kernels cut off the cob

  • 1 ounce crumbled goat cheese

  • Lemon-Basil Vinaigrette (in the salad dressing aisle)

  • Fresh chopped basil for garnish

  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper

Using a mandolin slicer, or wide vegetable peeler, peel the zucchini and squash lengthwise into long ribbons. Place the ribbons in a large bowl, mixing so the colors are combined. Add the corn kernels and enough vinaigrette to lightly coat. Toss. Add salt and freshly ground pepper. Sprinkle with goat cheese and garnish with fresh chopped basil.
