O Christmas Trees!

I’ll be honest, I started decorating for Christmas before Thanksgiving this year. I get a twinge of holiday spirit as soon as we get a few flurries of snow, and have to resist putting on Bing Crosby and caroling along. Luckily, most retail stores share my early Christmas vibes and decked their halls around Halloween.

Since I always plan on keeping my holiday décor up for several months, I try to decorate with more of a Winter theme and steer clear of anything too “Santa”. I love the wide variety of mini pine trees you can find just about everywhere these days! From realistic seedlings, to wooden cut-outs, I’m going to show you how I styled my home with these evergreen cuties!

I love having a cozy bedroom during Christmas. I have a fondness for vintage Christmas décor and had found this old-fashioned red truck with snow covered bottle-brush trees a few months ago. I knew it was going to make the perfect nostalgic addition to the bench at the end of my bed. I matched some comfy pillows and a throw to make the look complete.

Speaking of nostalgia, it’s always been a tradition in my home to watch A Charlie Brown Christmas every year. I think we all remember the little Charlie Brown Christmas tree with its droopy branches and bright red ornament. I made my own this year with a fresh pine branch and a vase to keep on my bedside table!

I have a few mismatched pine trees I paired up with some bottle-brush trees to make a forest on top of my dresser. This is a simple way to display a collection of misfits. Keeping the colors muted with similar shades keeps them from looking out of place. I replaced the necklaces on my jewelry hanger for some vintage glass ornaments tied with string.

For those of us that don’t have time to bake this time of year, you can still put your cake stands to good use by making a Wintery scene inside. More mini bottle-brush trees, a wooden house, and faux snow are all you need. The cake stand lid creates a snow globe effect and keeps your snow safely tucked inside.

And last, but not least, I can’t forget to decorate the tv stand! With all the great Christmas movies playing this time of year, it needs a pair of cozy flocked trees to keep it company and a warm scented candle, for a cozy night in.
