Dollar Décor

March 6, 2019

Great home décor doesn’t have to break the bank. Some of my favorite décor items I’ve picked up on the cheap from antique stores, thrift shops, and even the dollar store!  I headed out shopping to show you a few items you can pick up right now to spruce up your own home for just a few dollars!

There’s no denying Target has a great dollar spot. I have spent way too much time there, but have come home with some much-loved items. They have a price-point between $1-$5 and it’s a great place to stock up on seasonal and trendy pieces. Here are my picks for a few different price points.

$1: Glass Bud Vase
This simple vase is a great staple piece to incorporate into your home. They’re great in groups, or nestled into a vignette to add a pop of color with fresh-cut flowers.

$1: Faux Succulents
Succulents are super trendy and these faux versions are great for indoors where you might not be able to keep a live plant. The  stems are great quality and measure up to some pricier versions I’ve purchased at craft stores. Each stem is only $1, so making an arrangement like this can be done reasonably.

$3: Wooden Ampersand
Typography and monograms have been a popular decorating trend for a while now. This wooden ampersand has a yellow border for a fun pop of color. Nestle these wooden letters into bookshelves, between picture frames, or on window ledges.

$5 Throw Pillow
Make your favorite chair a little cozier with a decorative throw pillow. They had several styles to choose from, but this cursive “home” pillow fit my decorating style perfectly (bonus, the back has a striped design making this reversible!)

My local dollar store had a lot of great seasonal items as well. My picks for an easy touch of spring in your home, for only a dollar each.

$1: Moss Rocks
These aren’t actual rocks, but rather a light-wight plastic that is covered in a mossy texture. They are perfect for covering the soil in your potted plants, or creating a fairy garden.

$1: Faux Crocus
Artificial flowers can be really expensive. These bright yellow crocus stems are cheerful and a welcome sign of Spring! These artificial blooms are great for incorporating into wreaths and centerpieces, indoors and out!
